The document communicates new features and fixes in this release of School Zone.

The main feature of this release is the introduction of the new web classification engine which aligned School Zones website categories with the rest of Family Zones product line.

About This Release

This is a General Availability (GA) release incorporating a new web classification engine and fixes to Sonar 5.1.1 and new features to Mynet 1.1.0.

School Zone’s new classification engine simplifys identification of websites by using a straightforward naming convention for website categories. Family Zone now have complete control over categorisation and can add/modify site categorisation on the fly across all live instances.

The categorisation engine now in use on School Zone is the same as used in other Family Zone products (Mobile Zone, Home Zone, etc.) and as such is now consistanct across the product range.

Categorisation Update

During the upgrade all CT (Cyren) categories will be migrated to FamilyZone categories. These are carefully curate categories with an education focus. CT categories will be left behind for reference but will not have any effect in filters, we recommend removing these once duty of care is confirmed to be as expected after the upgrade.
